Os desafios da pessoa idosa no ensino superior

Cada vez mais a população mundial vem envelhecendo. Nessa perspectiva, faz-se necessário repensar a forma como os idosos vem sendo tratados pela e na sociedade e um dos aspectos fundamentais é (re)pensar o processo educativo desses sujeitos. É inegável a real presença da pessoa idosa nas Instituições de Ensino Superior e, diante de tal fato, busca-se, por meio dessa pesquisa, responder a seguinte questão: Como a presença da pessoa idosa é estabelecida num curso de Ensino Superior de uma Faculdade privada do Sul do Brasil? Como objetivo geral, o presente trabalho visa investigar como se dá a inserção e a permanência da pessoa idosa em cursos do Ensino Superior. Os objetivos específicos são: a) identificar o acesso da pessoa idosa ao Ensino Superior, por meio de relato de experiência; b) delinear como se dá o processo de adaptação da pessoa idosa numa Instituição de Ensino Superior.

The world population is increasingly aging. From this perspective, it is necessary to rethink the way in which the elderly have been treated by and in society and one of the fundamental aspects is to (re)think the educational process of these subjects. The real presence of the elderly person in Higher Education Institutions is undeniable and, in view of this fact, we seek, through this research, to answer the following question: How the presence of the elderly person is established in a Higher Education course of a Faculty private in southern Brazil? As a general objective, the present work aims to investigate how the insertion and permanence of the elderly person in Higher Education courses takes place. The specific objectives are: a) to identify the elderly person's access to Higher Education, through an experience report; b) outline how the process of adaptation of the elderly person in a Higher Education Institution takes place.

O ingresso de idosos no ensino superior ainda enfrenta barreiras que vão além do acesso às vagas. Como a presença dessa população é acolhida em uma faculdade privada no Sul do Brasil? A pesquisa investiga, por meio de relatos de experiência, como ocorrem a inserção, a adaptação e a permanência dos alunos idosos em cursos de graduação. O trabalho contribui para repensar a inclusão educacional em um país que envelhece cada vez mais.
