Resumo

O presente trabalho teve como meta investigar a literatura para a criança surda. Seu objetivo geral foi pesquisar como a literatura surda para crianças está descrita na literatura especializada, identificando possíveis impactos na educação bilíngue. Os objetivos específicos foram investigar o papel da literatura infantil no desenvolvimento da criança surda, analisar como a categoria Literatura Infantil está relacionada ao aprendiz surdo e à Educação Bilíngue e, finalmente, levantar as obras literárias infantis adaptadas e disponíveis para este público. A criança surda, da mesma forma que a ouvinte, tem direito à contação de histórias infantis. Entretanto, a peculiaridade para exercício desse direito está na utilização da Libras, língua de pleno acesso visual, independentemente da condição auditiva, que pode ser registrada em vídeo ou pela escrita de sinais.

Abstract
The present work aimed to investigate the literature for the Deaf child. Its general objective was to research how Deaf literature for children is described in specialized literature, identifying possible impacts on bilingual education. The specific objectives were to investigate the role of children's literature in the development of Deaf children, analyze how the category Children's Literature is related to Deaf learners and Bilingual Education, and to raise children's literary works adapted and available to this public. The Deaf child, like the hearing one, has the right to tell children's stories. However, the peculiarity for exercising this right is the use of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), a language with full visual access, regardless of the hearing condition, which can be recorded on video or by signwriting. Literature is present, according to Candido (2011), in all creations of poetic, fictional or dramatic touch, at all levels of a society and in all types of culture, which supports the great importance of its use with children.
